Who I am - Part 2

How did you become a devotee of your Aradhya ?

I am born in a Shaiva-Vaishnava family from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh ! Half of my family members are Shaivites and half are Vaishnavites.

So obviously they all are too much religious in nature and also being myself a Suryavanshi Kshatriya Rajput from Lord Lakshman’s dynasty hence they follow the rules of Ramayana as the main. Growing in such a family I used to watch only those serials, shows or even cartoons which are related to Hinduism or Sanatana Dharma.

My mom use to do Satya Narayana Vrat for Lord Vishnu so every thursday she use too make me listen the Satya Narayan Katha from Skanda Purana which increased my bhakti towards Shri Hari Narayan a lot and then she started doing Friday vrat of Maa Lakshmi and hence the stories she read made me a bhakta of Maa Lakshmi………

However I had a very less knowledge about Shiva Shakti. I know that Lord Shiva and Maa Durga are very powerful and are even that they love everyone but had 0 knowledge about them. I only knew that they are very very kind and I use to call Shiva more as Bholenath or Bhole Baba !!!!!!

Slowly slowly my curiosity towards Hara and Shakti started to increase. However I was now also a bhakta of Lakshmi Narayan only but as I use to attend the shivir of mu guru ji, I was getting their knowledge. I have learnt the beejakshar mantras from my early age only of Hara and Shakti, I use to experience them around me every time. There are mostly Lord Shiva temples only in Bharuch and hence I use to go in Shiva temples only but they all have Lakshmi Narayan as second most important deity. They have idols of Maa Durga, Maa Ganga, Lakshmi Narayan, Ram Sita Lakshman, Radha Krishna, Duttatreya, Hanuman, Sai Baba so I had a vision of equality among them.

However I started to attain the Shiva Katha sessions in the temples near to my home at evening time. In the name of going for playing football.

Hence my interest and love towards them increased to a very high level towards them ! Even I am native of Varanasi so I normally use to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlingam temple in every summer & winter and my father and mom use to apply Tripundram Vibhuti tilak on my head and hand. I use to feel very very cool and divine after applying that. That particular feeling of mine even cannot be told. I use to visit many Shiva temples in Varanasi and even on ghats !!!!!!

Slowly slowly I even started to read the patrikaas of my guruji which use to come every month from our Guru-dhaam Siddhashrama saadhak pariwaar in Jodhpur and after reading them I started to get the the knowledge of Adwaitic Shaivism and also about Smarthism. Then I myself started to read the holy scriptures like Puranas and Upanishads related to Shiva. This boosted my bhakti towards him. Hence this is how I became a devotee of my Lord Shiva and Maa Uma and accepted them as my ishta and is enjoying or actually loving to serve their feets and my aim is also to have Shiva-Shakti praapti !!!!!!!!!!

However I didn't left Hari. I now also love to study a lot about himl as I also love to serve feets of my Lakshmi Narayana. I always do the jal-abhisekam of Lord Shiva and Baal-gopal ji in my home mandir and recites the prayers and hyms of both of my Lord.

Those who say that worshipping one and diffrentiating other and saying this or that is not supreme……….I simply ignore them and move on my path of Bhakti and Gyaan because I know…….Maaya can block our mind anyhow…..It have even blocked the minds of devotees and got them fall in the mrityuloka (earth) again and angain. So one should always be careful and attentive towards the suddhikaran (purity and truth) of their heart.

Hope it helps !!!!!!!

Jay Uma Maheshwara !!!!!!!!!!

Jay Lakshmi Narayana !!!!!!!!!
