 What is the importance of Lord Vishnu in Hinduism ?

Ohhh !!!! The importance of Vishnu in Hinduism. Actually na what I think that importance of Vishnu is not only to Hinduism or Hindus but his importance is for the whole universe. He is the controller of all the cosmic powers present and even not present (he will create then). Vishnu is also one of the Para Brahmans in Hinduism. But as question is asked I will answer it on the basis of Hinduism :-

1. He is the Satyanarayan :-

The Satyanarayan katha is done on many auspicious occasions and is done atleast once a year. Satyanarayan deva is considered as a most pavitra. His pooja is performed to thank him for his blessings. The prasadam of this pooja is very important and the katha is also very important. It is said that one who listen to his katha and eat the prasadam is blessed highly by Lord Vishnu.

2. He is Paalanhaari :-

He is the Paalanhaari (preserver) of the Universe. He take cares of each and everything present in the world. He is regulates each and every process in the universe and is the reason of all reasons.

3. He is the Dharma Rakshaka :—

He is the Dharma Rakshaka (protector of Dharma). He takes different incarnations to preserve the world. He has taken 9 incarnations on earth till now which are Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narsimha, Vamana, Parshurama, Shri Ramachandra, Shri Krishna, Gautama Buddha and the 10th incarnation is going to come whose name is Kalki.

4. He is Lakshmipati :-

Lakshmi maa is considered as the goddess of prosperity and well being in Hinduism and she is the wife of Lord Vishnu. If someone worships Narayana, Lakshmi will definitely come to their house. If anyone disrespect Narayana, Lakshmi maa will not stay there as she hates one who disrespects her husband. Remember Maa Lakshmi is not only for wealth she comes and goes in eight form. If you disrespect shri Lakshmi Narayana dev (Lord Vishnu) whole wealth, health, happiness, goodness, literary, etc. all will be destroyed or either ruined from your family.

5. He is an Ananthapremi :-

He teaches us what's the real meaning of Love. He is an infinite lover (Anantha Premi). He loves his wife in their real form or either in their incarnated form that he uses his wife name or lover name first than his name. E.g. Lakshmi Narayana, Sita Rama, Radha Krishna, Rukmini Dwarkadish.

There are many other reasons why Lord Vishnu is very very important in Hinduism. Without him no level of existence of life would be possible in any dimension of the Universe.
