My Ancestry !!!!!!
I am able to trace my ancestry to Lord Lakshamana, younger brother of Shri Rama and from there to Lord Vishnu.
Yes, I belong to Visen dynasty of Kshatriya Rajputs who are descendants of Lord Lakshamana (Sheshnaag). The history goes like this :-
After Lord Rama returned to Vaikuntha, his sons Lava and Kusha with the sons of Bharat, Shatrughna and Lakshamana were made the kings of different regions of India. Lord Lakshamana had 2 sons, Chandraketu and Angada. Chandraketu was made the king of Malwa region from where he with his family migrated to Karnataka. Then Chandraketu was made the King of Karnataka at the ending of Tretayuga. His descendants were ruling Karnataka with Kuntala desha and South Vidarbha regions till the war of Mahabharata. After the rise of Lunar Dynasty (Chandravansha) of Hastinapura and Mathura (Yadvas as Yadvas are also Chandravanshis) we got tough fight from them. Finally we understood that Krishna is none another than Lord Vishnu so we surrendered to him and as per his advice joined the allies of Pandavas and fought in the Mahabharata war on the side of Pandavas. Even though we won but now our control from the Kuntala desha and Vidarbha were lost. Now we were only controlling Karnataka. Slowly slowly due to the rise of different dynasties in Karnataka we became their vassals and took part in different wars as commanders. Then at the time of Kadambas we defeated Pallavas and moved to Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. However some of them remained in Karnataka only. After a long time, different dynasties belonging to Visen ancestry migrated towards Purvanchal and Bihar through Carnatic Expansion and Chola Invasion on Bengal and Bihar. By this Visens migrated to East India and then started moving towards North. However only some migrated to North, most of the people remained here in Purvanchal and Bihar.
According to researches (even I am doing that), Visens are not just the descendants of Lord Lakshamana but are even descendants from Hareeta Gotra Brahmins (Kshatriyas who became Brahmins) in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. But yes all are Ikshawakus. Even Hareeta Gotra Brahmins are Ikshawakus and descendants of King Hareeta (ancestor of Shri Rama) as they became Brahmin at Adikeshawa Perumal Temple Malyapore Chennai, Tamil Nadu. That's why all Visens are Suryavanshis but a part of them also comes in Suryakula Rishivanshis. These Suryakula Rishivanshi Visens are the descendants of Kadambas of Karnataka and other Brahmin groups of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
However I belong to the direct lineage of Lord Lakshamana.
We got the name Visena after our king Vishwasena.
Thank You 🙏🙏
Edit:- Here is the Map of India at the time of Mahabharata!!!!!
