Shri Vishnu Stotram Part 2
Om Namo Narayanaya !!!!!!!
Again I am present with my commentary on Shri Vishnu Stotram which is from Shri Vishnu Purana. Its some what long but detailed explained, hope you all will love it. So now let us go to next verse of Shri Vishnu Stotram :-
नमो ब्रह्मण्यदेवाय गोब्राह्मणहिताय च ।
जगद्धिताय कृष्णाय गोविन्दाय नमो नमः ॥२॥
Namo Brahmanya devaaya Gau Brahmana Hitaayacha,
Jagaddhitaaya Krishnaaya Govindaaya namo Namah !!!!!
Salutations to the deva (god) who is Brahman himself, who is the well wisher of cattle and Brahmins,
Oh Lord who is the sun of the world, who is bluish black in color and who is protector of Vedas, all salutations to you.
Commentary :-
Here Mahabhakta Prahlaad, says Shriman Brahmanya deva, Gau Brahmana Hitaayacha, Jagaddhitaaya Krishnaaya Govindaaya. Now I am going to give a detail explanation.
The word Brahaman Devaa is a perfect term given to Shri Hari. Yes he is supreme Brahaman of Vedas. Many times in Vedas like in Rig Veda in Purusha Suktam, Shriman Narayana is glorified as supreme. Many times in other Suktas like Narayana Suktam in Yajur Veda and even in Shri Suktam of Rig Veda he is glorified and mentioned. And as Vedas being supreme authority, his supremacy cannot be challenged.
1st line from Purusha Suktam says :-
सहस्रशीर्षा पुरुषः सहस्राक्षः सहस्रपात् ।
स भूमिं विश्वतो वृत्वात्यतिष्ठद्दशाङुलम्
Sahasra-Shiirssaa Purussah Sahasra-Akssah Sahasra-Paat
Sa Bhuumim Vishvato Vrtva-Atya[i-Tisstthad-Dasha-Angulam
Now when we break the words we get :-
The Purusha who is Universal Being has Thousand Heads, Thousand Eyes and Thousand Feet (Thousand signifies innumerable functions of the Universal Being),
He envelops the World from all sides i.e. He pervades each part of the Creation, and extends beyond in the Ten Directions represented by Ten Fingers.
So the first line is enough to prove about Lord Vishnu’s supremacy. I will not go in detail otherwise it will become commentary on Purusha Suktam.
Secondly Mahabhakta Prahlaad says to Shriman that he is Gau Brahmana Hitaaya. Now this words simply means he is a well wisher and thinker about cattle and Brahmins. Now here what point to be noted ? The point to be noted here that what’s the significance of cattle and particularly cow and Brahmins. Here cattle is basically signifying the importance of the daily needs of a person. Cow is considered as mother because when a mother of a child stops giving her milk to the child, its Cow who is fulfilling the needs of that child. This gives an equal love of mother to the child which his/her mother gives. Now the word Brahmin doesn't mean the one who is Brahmin by birth. It basically signifies the learned men and women. Learned men and women means one who not only have bookish knowledge, but are best in manners, habits and behavior and have good characteristics. So in all he is care taker of all the basic needs of us without which we cant live even and is care taker of the learned people here so that Gyaan (knowledge) and Dharma will be prevailing the world.
Now Mahabhakta Prahlaad says Shriman as Jagaddhitaaya Krishnaaya Govindaaya. Jagaddhitaaya means the one who is the Sun of the World but here Jagad is referred to Universe. This word actually says that He is the supreme who is actually the Urja Kendra (power house) of the Universe as Sun signifies energy. Now how I am telling this ? You know a story from Shrimad Bhagwata Purana, where Indra mistaken himself as the supreme Lord. When Shriman tried to break his over proudness by stooping Vrindavan vaasi to offer him different offerings, he tried to destroy paawan dhaam Vrindavan which is the divine abode of the Lord. But Shri Hari taught him a good lesson by lifting up whole Go-Vardhan Parvat on his one tip of smallest finger of the right hand. After this incident, Indra realized his mistake and fall on the feets of he the supreme. Indra realized that he is not supreme, the power he have of doing rains on earth is given to him by the supreme who resides in his param dhaam Vaikuntha with our Shri Mata.
Now Mahabhakta Prahalaad says the supreme as Krishna and Govinda. Yes Lord is Krishna because he is Bluish Black in color but his radiance is even cannot match billions of Sun. Even also because Shri Bhagwaan came on earth by taking Shri Krishna avatar and did dharma sthaapna by doing the great war of Mahabharata in Dwaapar Yuga. Shri Bhagwaan come on this earth every Yuga. Now why does Shri Bhagwaan is said Govinda ? This because he is protector of Vedas which is his mouth spoken only. The story of Matsya Avatar of the Shri Bhagwaan from Shri Shri Vishnu Purana is known to everyone. How he killed Hayigrivaa and took Vedas and also took the form of Hayigrivaa and again gave Vedas to Lord Bramha who is supreme master of the Vedas. He then asked Manu and his wife along with Sapta Maharishis to follow the Vedas for again establishing the human civilization on earth after paralaya (destruction).
Hope you have liked this and have learn many things from it. Soon I will be present again with the commentary on next verse. Till then sing his and her glories and worship them who reside in divine Vaikuntha and Kailasha.
Thank You !!!!!!!!!!!!
Jay Lakshmi Narayana !!!!!!!!!!
