Hare Krishna!
Tirumala/Tirupati are the places where you can see lot of temples and Thirthams. You feel blessed if you visit them.
Let’s discuss about one of the temples of Sri Venkateswara near Tirupati.
Sri Prasanna Venkateswara swamy Temple, Appalayagunta:
Location:
This temple is located in Chitthoor District of Andhra Pradesh and about 14kms from Tirupati.
History of the Temple:
After Sri Padmavathi Srinivasa Kalyanam, they resided in the asram of Sage Agasthya for 6 months and after that they started to Tirumala. They were on the way to Tirumala. A sage named Siddeswara invited them to his asram and worshiped. On that occasion, this temple was built.
Sri Siddheswara Yogi with PadmavathiSrinivasa:
Here, Sri Venkateswara swamy will be in the “Abhaya Hasta Posture” unlike of other temples of Sri Venkateswara.
The following is the picture of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Utsava Murthy with his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi:
Mostly, in all other temples of Sri Venkateswara swamy, his right will show his lotus feet (which means to surrender to his Lotus Feet). But, in this temple, his right will be in Abhaya Hasta Posture. This is the only difference between Tirumala Venkateswara idol and Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy.
Along with Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy, there are upalayas of Sri Padmavathi Maa and Andal Devi too.
Padmavathi Maa, Sri Andal Maa
Sri Anjaneya swamy temple is located opposite to the temple of Lord. Same you can see in Tirumala too.
Utsavas/Sevas of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy:
Suprabhatham, Thomala, Archana are the main daily sevas here.
Abhishekam is done to the Mulamurthy of Sri Venkateswara swamy on every Fridays (Morning) and Unjal Seva is done to Utsava Murthy of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara swamy on every Saturdays (Evening).
Every month (according to Telugu Calendar), on Sravana Nakshatram, Kalyanotsavam is held.
Brahmotsavams (in Jyeshta maasam), Rathasapthami, Pavithrothsavam and many others are Yearly Sevas.
Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy on Garuda Vahan:
This temple runs under Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
Darsanam of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara and Sri Kalyana Venkateswara swamy (Srinivasa Mangapuram) is equal to the Darshan of Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy.
May Sri Prasanna Venkateswara swamy always bless us!!!!
