Is Maa MahaKaali wife or daughter of Lord Shiva ?
Maa MahaKaali is wife of Lord Shiva and cannot be his daughter……..No never !!!!!!
Sameways Lord Shiva is also husband of Maa Kaali, not her son !!!!!!!!
I know some people are spreading this myth that “Kaali/Lalitha/Durga/Parvati is daughter of Lord Shiva and even this too “Lord Shiva is just a Shava if his mother Kaali don’t give him powers” and many other non-vedic foolish things.
Kaali is wife of Shiva and she is Parvati only at Kailasha dhaam. That’s a very simple and sweet answer.
Now the word son is just a term used in love. In Shiva Purana Maa never tells Rudra as son. Only in Nigamas this come. And hence in Shaiva Agamas (all Shiva, Rudra and Bhairava) too Rudra/Bhairava sometimes says Maa Shakti as Daughter and Student. The word son and daughter is symbolical word here, not the reality.
Now what’s the confusion comes from here :-
Kaali Tantra :-
Devi said: “Listen son, to the very plain exposition of the teachings of utmost bliss. I speak of the method relating to the yoga of liberation. This is the one essence of all tantras, worshiped by all devas, giving every sort of knowledge, secret, giving a clear idea of the essence of enlightenment, free of good or evil, giver of both enjoyment and liberation, consisting of all paths. Dear son, it deludes even the wise !”
But it’s not something here only :-
In Agamas too Lord Shiva sometimes says Daughter and Student to Maa Shakti,
"Oh dear daughter, this knowledge of mine even is not known by excellent sages"
So thus this mean that Kaali who is Shakti is daughter of Shiva and Shiva married her own daughter ????
The answer is a very big NO !!!!!!!!
In Nigamas, Lord Shiva/Rudra behaves as son and student of Maa Kaali because she is giving the knowledge of her to Lord Shiva and in Agamas Maa Kaali behaves daughter and student of Lord Rudra because at that time he is giving the knowledge to her.
Most interesting part here is they both know that knowledge. But because we their original and real sons and daughters (we jeevas) don't have this great knowledge of Agamas and Nigamas, they play with these bhaavs and hence that's the only thing.
They actually implicit that they are alone existing and they themselves play with each other which we call as leela and becomes each other's everything.
That's why Shaivas believe that each and everything is just leela of Shiva Shakti and nothing else. Shiva and Shakti are ever united, non-different from each other and one.
For understanding Shaiva Agamas, Shakta Agamas and Nigamas…….. One should have full knowledge of Adwaitam and should have a path of spirituality of Adwaitam which we call as Experience. Otherwise one should not read them because then everyone will start taking out different meanings of them and will start interpolating them.
Hope it helps !!!!!!
Dhanyawaadam !!!!!!
Jay Shiva Shakti !!!!!!!!!!
