How powerful is Garuda (carrier of Lord Vishnu)?

Ohhh….. How powerful is Lord Garuda. Hmmmm. I am a fan of Garuda deva but here I will share you how I became the fan of Garuda deva. The answer of this question lies in it only. I wish you will read it till end 😉😇.

Ok let I start my answer on the basis of Legends.

1. Birth of Garuda and his challenges.

Garuda deva is the son of Maharishi Kashyapa and Maa Vinita and brother of Aruna and half brother or step brother of Nagas, Devas, Asuras and etc. Kadru, Lord Garud's step mother always hated her sister who is Lord Garud's mother Vinita for no reason. One day both Kadru and Vinita came to Maharishi Kashyapa for asking the Santaan Var (Boon to have children). Kadru asked for 1000 children and Vinita asked for only 2 children who will be equal to 1000 children of Kadru. Maharishi blessed them with the boon.

After some time Kadru gave 1000 eggs and Vinita gave 2 eggs. Both were shocked!!!!! What's this. Maharishi told them that the Boon they asked is not possible in case for a human birth. By this Kadru gave birth to Nagas (Serpents) and Vinita gave birth to Aruna (Charioteer of Lord Surya) and Garuda. Vinata eager for her sons, impatiently broke one of the eggs from which emerged the partially formed Aruna, who looked radiant and reddish as the morning sun but not as bright as the midday sun.

Aruna chided his mother, Vinata for her impatience since he was born without legs, warned her to not break open the second egg and cursed her to be a slave until his brother rescues her. Aruna then left to become the charioteer of Surya.Vinata waited, and after many years the second egg hatched, and Garuda was born. Her mother loses bet via cheat, to co-wife of her husband and becomes her slave. Garuda later on put request to his brothers, to free her mother from slavery at which they demanded Amrita from heaven. Garuda wages a war against gods and with his extraordinary might and abilities beyond thinking, defeats all of them along with Indra as their head. Bypassing Indra's security he took Nectar vessel and took flight for earth. In the meanwhile Vishnu comes there and asks for a boon to be his ride, which he granted. Indra request him to not give the Amrita to those Nagas as they will trouble them later, at which they forged a plan. Garuda reaching at his brothers placed the vessel before them, and asked them to first purify themselves before drinking. Meanwhile, Jayanta (Son of Indra) comes there and take the vessel with him. On returning, they were all fed to Garuda.

Lord Garuda had to drink poison for taking Amrit. But then also he didn't got any bad effects.

This shows his Power.

2. Garuda and Samudramanthan :-

During the time of Samudramanthan, Garuda brought the Mountain by which the Sagar Manthan was going to happen. He exactly put the the mountain on the back of Lord Vishnu's Kurma Avatara.

This was his power.

3. Kaaliya Naaga was feared from Garuda :-

Yes Kaaliya Naaga was polluting the early parts of River Yamuna near the Khandava Parastha region and was mercilessly killing all the animals there. This angered Lord Garuda and he attacked Kaaliya Naag. He destroyed his powerful kingdom and forced kaaliya Naag to run away. He wanted to kill Kaaliya Naag but the Pad chinnha of Lord Vishnu in Shri Krishna roop, orderd Lord Garuda not to kill any Naaga.

This is his power.

4. Lord Garuda broked the Naaga Paash of Meghanaad Indrajit :-

On the first day of War of Indrajit with Lord Rama and Lord Lakshmana, Indrajit used Naag paash in which both of my Lord were tied. No one even lord Hanuman was not able to break the Naag paash. So on the advice of Jambavant ji, everyone prayed Lord Garuda to break the Naag Paash. Finally Lord Garuda came and broke up the most powerful Naag paash that was even not possible by Devas to be broked.

This was the power of Lord Garuda.

5. As Lord's Vahana and Friend :-

Lord Garuda is not only the Vahana of Lord Vishnu. He is also his friend. He use to ask and give advices during the time of Wars. He actively participates in War. In one attack he kills thousands of Asuras. He is one of the most powerful and immortal Lord.

This is his power.
